Pleated Air Filters:
The pleated air filter utilizes a state-of-the-art 100% synthetic
media to achieve exceptionally high levels of efficiency with the
lowest resistance to air flow available. The media is laminated to
an expanded metal grid on the air
exiting side to provide exceptional strength during installation.
The media support grid prevents fluttering and maintains pleat
uniformity for optimum performance. The
filter pack is enclosed in a heavy-duty, moisture resistant die-cut
frame that will not warp, crack, or distort under normal operating
conditions. The 1" and 2" depth filters handle air velocities
up to 500 fpm; 4" depth filters up to 625 fpm. Pleats are recommended for most commercial and industrial
applications to protect
people and equipment, or as pre-filters to even higher efficiency
air filters.
The pleated filter has independent test lab data confirming
exceptionally high levels of airborne particle removal with the
lowest resistance to air flow available. The pleat has a range of
efficiencies starting at a MERV-8, MERV-11 has a medium efficiency
and the MERV-13 is the most efficient pleated filter you can
purchase. Higher levels of filtration make pleats extremely
effective removing many airborne irritants such as pollens, molds,
dander, and dust. Low resistance improves air flow and can greatly reduce energy
costs. Pleat filters can be a valuable tool in achieving points for USGBC - LEED certification projects.
APPLICATIONS
Pleated air filters are designed for use in commercial
buildings, hotels, industrial filtration, airports, school and
universities, or any application desiring higher levels of
air filtration to protect occupants from airborne irritants and
protect cooling coils, ductwork, and other components of
the HVAC system from dust and dirt.
Polyester Disposable Filters:
Polyester disposable filters offer a MERV-7 level of efficiency.
The polyester disposable filters use 100% non-woven polyester to
maximize their high dust holding capacity. The filter frame is
clearly marked with size, UL classification, and air flow direction.
APPLICATIONS
These polyester disposable filters can be used as a direct
replacement for filters supplied in original equipment. Standard
sizes are available in one-inch and two-inch depths to accommodate
most filter tracks.
Honeywell / Air Bear / Space-Gard Replacement Filters
Honeywell, Trion Air Bear and Spaceguard Air Cleaner
Replacement Filters are rigidly constructed utilizing high quality
filtration media, backed with a metal mesh to prevent sagging during
operation. The Replacement Air Cleaner replacements is the
perfect option for maintaining or upgrading specific residential or
commercial systems. 100% Synthetic Media, Heavy-duty, Moisture
Resistant Construction. Air Cleaner Replacement Filters offer
convenient alternatives when replacement of the original filter is
necessary. There are filter replacement options for Aprilaire
(formerly Space-Gard ) media #201, features a convenient cartridge
design to save time and money. There are filter
replacement options for the Trion Air Bear and Air Cub filters.
Also there are filter replacement option for the Honeywell cartridge
filters. The pleats are formed in a radial configuration and
controlled with separators on the air entering side to ensure proper
dust loading. The pleated cartridge is encapsulated and bonded into
a heavy-duty, beverage board frame to ensure filter integrity in
high moisture applications.
APPLICATIONS
Air Cleaner Replacement Filters are the perfect option for
maintaining or upgrading specific residential or commercial systems.
All air cleaner filters install easily without modification to the
original housing.
SPECIFICATIONS
Air Cleaner Replacement Filters shall be of the
extended surface pleated media type. The media utilized shall be
electrostatically charged, 100% synthetic fibers. An expanded metal
reinforcement will be laminated to the air leaving side of the media
by a thermo-setting adhesive to maintain continuity of the radial
pleats. The expanded metal shall be galvanized to resist rust and
corrosion.
Moisture resistant separators are used to insure pleat integrity
during operation. The pleated cartridge will be bonded to the
peripheral interior of the outer frame. A heavy-duty, moisture
resistant, die cut beverage board will be utilized for an encasing
frame.
The frame face will be internally laminated to the pleated cartridge
apexes. Gasketing on the assembled filter prevents air bypass on the
Air Bear filters.
Polyester Pads
These Filters Fast Polyester Pads are made of a 1" white paint
arrestor media blended from large fibers on the air entry side and
small fibers on the air exit side. The result is a gradient density
that allows for excellent paint loading as well as a long service
life, minimal pressure drop and protection of the surrounding
environment. Precut polyester air filter media for most HVAC general
filtration requirements. Frequently used to
replace fiberglass filters which can fragment and send glass slivers
into the airstream. Polyester offers higher efficiency and dust
holding capabilities than most fiberglass filters.
Rigid Cell Filters
Rigid Cell Filters are a medium to high-efficiency filter, with low
initial
pressure drop. Rigid cell filters are produced in both 4", 6"
and 12" depths. The efficiency range on the rigid cell filters
are from MERV 11 up to MERV 15. Rigid filters allow you
to see removal of fine airborne particulate while maintaining, or
reducing, your energy consumption and costs. Rigid filter
media ensures pleat spacing that maximizes air flow and ensures full
depth dust loading of the media. Synthetic media delivers a
sturdy, durable media pack that surpasses the characteristics of
wet-laid glass and aluminum separators used in competitor products.
Rigid filters with no metal in the media pack, and cell sides made
with High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) plastic, are environmentally
safe and fully incinerable.
Bag Filters
Multi-pocket bag filters are medium to high efficiency filters with
tapered pleats and pocket stitching. They are used in built-up
filter banks, rooftops, split systems, free-standing units, package
systems and air handlers. They come in efficiencies from MERV
11 to MERV 14. Extended surface non-supported bag filters are
designed for use in air filtration systems and equipment where
medium to high efficiency filtration is required. Available in a
wide variety of standard sizes, face dimensions, pocket number and
depth, our bag filter provides optimal performance in air handling
systems where the air flow is constant. Galvanized metal
frame, (header) and internal pocket support retainers, provide
strength and rigidity to this product. The pockets, comprised
of 100% polypropylene fibers, are secured within the inside
perimeter of the header by a crimping process between individual
j-channels. Each pocket is sonically sealed along the outside edges
to prevent bypass. Rigid construction, extended surface, long
service life and savings in energy costs are features and benefits
which make our bag filter an excellent option for meeting the
requirements of medium to high efficiency filtration.
HEPA Filters
HEPA stands for "High-Efficiency Particulate Air". A HEPA filter is
a type of air filter that satisfies certain standards of efficiency
such as those set by the United States Department of Energy (DOE).
By government standards, a HEPA air filter must remove 99.97% of all
particles greater than 0.3 micrometer from the air that passes
through. HEPA filters are composed of a mat of randomly
arranged fibers. The fibers are typically composed of fiberglass and
possess diameters between 0.5 and 2.0 micrometers. Key factors
affecting function are fiber diameter, filter thickness, and face
velocity. The air space between HEPA filter fibers is much greater
than 0.3 μm. The common assumption that a HEPA filter acts like a
sieve where particles smaller than the largest opening can pass
through is incorrect. Unlike membrane filters at this pore size,
where particles as wide as the largest opening or distance between
fibers cannot pass in between them at all, HEPA filters are designed
to target much smaller pollutants and particles. These particles are
trapped (they stick to a fiber) through a combination of the
following three mechanisms: Interception, impaction, and
Diffusion. Diffusion predominates below the 0.1 μm diameter
particle size. Impaction and interception predominate above 0.4 μm.
In between, near the Most Penetrating Particle Size (MPPS) 0.3 μm,
both diffusion and interception are comparatively inefficient.
Therefore, the HEPA specifications use the retention of these
particles to define the filter.
Metal Mesh Air Filters
Metal Mesh Filters are made of standard bonded aluminum metal mesh
filter media in an aluminum frame channel. This is a better
quality bonded aluminum mesh filter than the one that is standard
with nearly all residential electronic air cleaners. It is a
washable, permanent, bonded aluminum metal mesh air filter and is
satisfactory for use in most applications. The standard duty
aluminum frame channel is heavier duty than the frame channel used
by other manufacturers, and has rounded edges so it won't split like
most of the lighter duty sharp edged filter frame channels. We
make it heavy duty by using a heavy duty frame channel and adding a
layer of heavy duty flattened expanded aluminum on either side of
the bonded aluminum mesh. No one else makes a filter like this one.
ABOUT FILTERS AND MERV RATINGS MERV RATINGS
(Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) are used by the HVAC (Heating,
Ventilating and Air Conditioning) industry to describe a filter's
ability to remove particulates from the air. A higher MERV rating
means better filtration and greater performance.
